Nationwide, 11,000 men and women in 389 SCORE offices donate their time to assist America’s present and future entrepreneurs. At SCORE Portland, volunteers, both retired and working professionals, provide confidential one-on-one and team business counseling in a variety of ways, be it in person, over the phone or online, in addition to low-cost small business training workshops. Our counselors generously share their knowledge and experience so that entrepreneurs can realize their own dreams of business success.  

 

In becoming a SCORE volunteer, not only will you provide invaluable assistance to the small business community, but you will assuredly find it to be a personally rewarding experience as well. SCORE volunteers have found a mutual respect among their fellow colleagues and enjoy a camaraderie through shared experiences and interests.

 

Prospective members will have an initial meeting with a member of the volunteer committee to ask questions and exchange information about what SCORE does and what we expect from our membership. Should SCORE be a good fit, new members will participate in our orientation program and will be assigned a mentor who will train you in SCORE’s counseling process, goals and volunteer opportunities.
