About the Center

The Business Resource Center (BRC) is a unique place designed to assist small businesses with their research and planning. All of the resources in the Center are available for your use, FREE.

Terms of Use

The use of the Business Resource Center (BRC) is for clients who are starting up a new small business or growing an existing business.  Unless a client is actively working with a SCORE counselor, the use of the BRC is restricted to 30 visits in a 12 month period.

  BRC Hours are:  9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Monday through Friday, except for Federal Holidays

The BRC has a wide variety of resource materials available, including computers with access to extensive databases and high-speed Internet access as well as many other general and specialized business oriented software programs and CD-ROMs.

These guides provide general and detailed information on over 200 specific businesses. Each guide contains information on startup costs, marketing, location tips, accounting and record keeping, management, legal considerations, and much more. The guide appropriate to your business is the best place to start gathering information for your business plan or in making sure that you have covered all the bases in your plan.

Computer Resources

The FREE computer lab is an exceptional facility for the small business person or entrepreneur. You are able to research industries, competition, design and build business plans, create marketing programs and formalize your business concepts.

The BRC is equipped with seven IBM compatible workstations all with access to printers.

Each work station is laoded with:

Internet Access

Our high-speed access to the Web makes the BRC an ideal place to do research.  We have also identified a number of resources available on the Web that will be useful in completing your research. These resources are identified, described and an active link to the site provided.

Audio/Visual Resource Library

For informative business training, the BRC Audio Visual Library has videos and tapes on a wide variety of business topics. Equipped with earphones, our two large screen TVs and cassette players allow you to learn about everything from the latest management techniques to tax law in a comfortable setting.

Info To Go

Pamphlets, books, articles, directories, information sheets on business subjects and notices of upcoming business events are free to clients. Some of the material is in Spanish.

Counseling in the BRC

While you are in the BRC you can get FREE confidential business counseling provided by the SCORE BRC staff. The staff is on-site daily; no appointment is necessary. Our counselors offer years of experience in a wide range of business disciplines including law, finance, construction, manufacturing, marketing, engineering and business planning. You will find the staff knowledgeable on business and problems facing small businesses.
