The business of SCORE is helping small businesses become more successful
SCORE is a national, non-profit organization that began in 1964 and now has over 10,500 members in 389 chapters. We are a group of working and retired business executives who volunteer our time to assist people in starting-up new businesses or to provide business advice and counsel for existing businesses.
SCORE Portland has over 80 such volunteer consultants locally to counsel and mentor you on a wide range of business issues. We also offer presentations about SCORE, workshops on business topics, or special sessions for groups and organizations. Click menu item REQUEST Counseling to get started!

Have you ever wished you had a mentor, someone you can trust, someone who knows business from the inside out, someone who can provide direction? Starting or expanding a small business can be overwhelming. In many cases you may think of it as a gamble, you don't know which way to turn. SCORE can help take some of the mystery out of starting your own business. We can provide direction, help you get started down the path of success and help you take control of your career in business.
Through in-depth counseling and training, SCORE volunteers help prospective and established small business owners and managers identify problems, determine the causes, and find solutions.
The Portland chapter of SCORE is part of the national SCORE organization that works in partnership with the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to provide professional guidance and information to small business owners.
SCORE does not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, marital status (in the extension of credit), age, disability or national origin.
